2013 Hampton Ridge Gators!

About Our Team

Our summer swim team is based at the pool in the Hampton Ridge subdivision off of Wigley Road (between Sandy Plains Road and Jims Road) in Marietta, GA.

Our mission is to provide a family atmosphere in which children can learn to swim, improve strokes, maintain fitness, learn a life skill, and have fun.  Swimmers inside and outside the neighborhood are welcome to join!

Gator Coaches for 2013:

We are excited about the return of our Head Coach, Aaron Lawson.  Coach Aaron is currently the Head Coach of the Kell High School Varsity Swim and Dive Team.  Aaron is considered by his peers to be a stroke expert and a great technician with an enthusiastic approach to teaching all age groups, and we are excited to have him return for the fourth year as the leader of our team.  Aaron is a special education teacher at Kell High School.

Welcome back Coach Henry Loong.  Henry has been swimming for eleven years, has been swimming year-round with the Marlins for five years, and he was captain of the Lassiter High School Swim Team last year.  This is Henry's fifth year with the Gators.  Henry is the Georgia state record holder in the 200 breast, 100 breast, and the 200 IM, and he was ranked 2nd in the nation for three events in 2007. Not only is he an outstanding swimmer, he is a great sport for all of our Gator fun days!

We have had a couple of families who left the Gators so their kids could swim with friends on another team, only to return to the Gators the following year due to the outstanding coaching and fun atmosphere this team offers. 

2013  Practice Schedule

May 6 - 22   Monday - Friday

6 & under:  4:00 - 4:30 p.m.

7,8:  4:30 - 5:00 p.m.

9,10:  5:00 - 5:45

11 & up:  5:45 - 6:30 p.m.

No practice May 23 (last day of school), May 24 or May 27 (Memorial Day)

May 28 through June 27: 

6 & under: 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.

7,8:  9:00 - 9:45 a.m.

9,10:  9:45 - 10:45

11 & up:  10:45 - 11:45 a.m.

Fun Days:   Day after a meet 

10:00 - 11:00

Little Gators (4 year olds) June 3 - June26

8:00 - 8:30 a.m. (4 days a week - not on Fun Days)  

Special Events:

May 21, 22  Time Trials (swimmers timed during regular practice times)

May 29 - First Meet (Home Meet)

TBD - Banquet

TBD - Gator Day at the Movies, and other spirit events
